My favorite thing about kids is their unabashed curiosity. With no preconceived notions, they’re curious about why everything is the way it is, and never afraid to ask. This mindset is too soon lost in adults, as we come to accept things as “they way they’ve always been.”
And yet, sometimes we still find ourselves questioning the status quo as adults. While on a cross-country flight a few years ago, I found myself staring at the flight map. I started to think deeply about the borders between states and countries, and what these divisions come to mean in our lives.
“Borders” poses the question: “what if kids were in charge of making the map?” It challenges readers to think outside the way it’s always been and explores a world where children are in a position to redesign our world for the better.
